Medals Vancouver 2010

Medaling — not meddling — is acknowledged by every athlete to be a team sport.

We see the athletes up on the podium.

What we don’t see is the big group of people who were on his/her team – moms, dads, coaches, people who gave money, former friends or teachers who said “You can do it!”

All the people who gave:

  • Inspirational feedforward: “Look at what Rick Hansen has done. You can do it too.”
  • Corrective Feedforward: “I see you doing this. Try this I think it will help you improve.”
  • Praising Feedforward: “Yes! That’s it keep doing that and focusing on that outcome you just got!”
  • Motivational Feedforward:“Yes I know you’re hurting now. Keep pushing 10% more so that when you’re in the last leg of your race, you will have juice left. You can do it!”

And that’s how all of us can experience more joy and abundance in our lives.
