Who are these “Ordinary Geniuses?

They are smart people who make great contributions.

Or, they can be a manager’s worst nightmare, as they can be obnoxious, arrogant, rebellious, antisocial, and have no regard for corporate protocol.

Yet most managers would shrivel up in a corner and cry if the genius left for a better job.
They are “ordinary geniuses” who thrive on solving problems.

They are the people you can rely on.

They want to be congratulated for their accomplishments. This doesn’t mean that they strive for rapid ascension up the corporate ladder. They just want to be respected, paid fairly and enjoy doing their job.

Characteristics of “Ordinary Geniuses”

  • Intelligent (in terms of logic, spatial relationships, systems, mathematics, and problem solving);
  • Emotionally intelligent (self-aware, can mange their emotions, respect others, are team players); and
  • Have an excellent work ethic (they work until the problem is solved, product shipped, or service completed).
  • Geniuses love challenges (they often work non-stop until a problem is solved)
  • Are naturally curious about things and people (they thrive on experimenting, tinkering, fixing, and adapting).
  • Are fascinated by the intricacies and complex workings of the world.
  • Can be either introverts or extroverts (they lean towards introversion, but they also enjoy exchanging ideas with other Geniuses); and
  • Are reflective thinkers (they think before speaking and mull over problems).

In short, “Ordinary Geniuses” are smart, mobile, and dedicated more to their craft than status.
